FIELD NOTE · DAY 1

Starting a new 90-day side project.

The goal isn’t really to build a massive eBay business. I’m more interested in using it as an automation experiment and seeing how much manual work I can remove.

Over the next 90 days I want to experiment with:

  • Identifying items from photos
  • Finding model numbers
  • Researching recently sold prices
  • Generating titles and descriptions
  • Filling in item specifics
  • Recommending pricing
  • Tracking inventory
  • Adjusting prices based on performance
  • Automating as much of the post-sale workflow as eBay allows

THE HUMAN PART

Obviously, some things still need a human. I still have to take the photos, store the inventory, pack the boxes, and ship the orders.

But the end goal is basically: take photos → review → approve → ship when sold.

I have a ridiculous amount of computer hardware, server equipment, electronics, and random stuff around, so I might as well use it as test inventory.

Starting at $0 today.

I’ll share what I build, what works, what fails, and how automated I can realistically make the whole process over the next 90 days.
